Would Par 56 Lights be good for photography?

Im getting very into fashion photography, and am wondering if par 56 lights would be any good for shoots, as i cant, and dont want to pay 200 quid for the whole softbox rig. Please bear in mind im only 14, so dont have loads to spend on lighting etc! Any comments will be appriciated!
