How to convince my mom to let me get a small pet?

Well in about a week, i'm getting rid of four kittens because we can't keep them so we found them homes. We kept the mom and all together I have 1 flying squirrel, 2 sugar gliders, 1 dog, 3 cats, and 2 newts. Well, my dog is fat and lazy just like my cats, my newts don't play, and the sugar gliders and the flying squirrel are nocturnal so I can only play with them for about an hour a night before having to lay down for the night. want a pet I can play with during the day. No fish. I want a small pet. More like a rodent and no hamsters. A playful animal. No birds because they are too noisy. 2 questions: how to convince my mom to let me get a small pet and what's the best pet I could get.
