Racism/Stereotyping/Predjudice… etc. ???
Racism occurs mainly because individual groups of people take so much pride in being who they are, that they do not imilate with the dominant culture. The dominant culture of any nation are the educated people. They tend to have degrees and to sound educated when they speak. So anyone who does not act like a member of the dominant culture is seen as being "less than." Many of the people who are seen as "less than" are either unable to unwilling to join the dominant culture, so the dominant culture continues to see them as less than, and it treats them accordingly. In the U.S. clism is much more prevalent than racism. I think Clism stings a poor person every bit as much as racism stings a minority. Before I went to college I did not know what 'old money' or 'new money' were. It turns out, that they are types of people who our rules and laws may not apply to because of their position in society.
